Shortly after I got my Thinkpad this summer, while watching a Youtube video, something happened and the audio suddenly cut off. However, the computer believed that the audio was just fine; when running the audio test service, the indicator bar lit up in green despite absolute silence even at 100% volume. This was true both for the speakers and for headphones. No suggested solution had any effect---restarting the Windows Audio Service didn't work, updating or rolling back the drivers didn't work, and nothing the Troubleshooter service suggested worked. The computer consistently indicated that it thought sound was occurring despite the very real lack of any audio. Apple macbook air 13.3 user manual. Canon eos utility 2.6 download mac.
After no more than 2 weeks, sound was back just as if nothing had happened. Now, about a month later, a similar situation has occured. The difference, however, is that this time Windows actually informed me there had been 'a problem' (complete with a light-blue screen of dread and a frowny emoticon) and it needed to restart. When it restarted, the audio was again nowhere to be found. I ran Troubleshooter and updated the drivers, and I tried fiddling with the Windows Audio Service. Again, there has been no result.
In plain terms, a driver is software that allows your computer device to connect to external devices, such as keyboards and mice. In design program for mac. If your drivers aren't up to date, your computer may lose the ability to 'speak' to these devices, rendering them useless. How to Update Drivers. Security updates, bug fixes, performance enhancements, and drivers are all available for updates on your computer. Though you may have a basic understanding of what security updates and performance enhancements entail, you may be less familiar with drivers.
I am pretty sure that the issue cannot be with the drivers, nor the Audio Service, nor the audio enhancements (which I have turned off, not that it did anything).
NOTE: To clarify, this issue is not limited to sounds originating from Youtube or from my browser, but the entirety of sound output from my computer. This is why I do not think the issue is at all related to my browser or to Youtube.
Hi,
I have the same issue! It's definetly the driver that is corrupt. After installing it, the speakers didn't work.

I did a full system restore to before the update and it just worked fine until that **** update was installed automatically again. It creates 2 issues, either you do have sound but no video can play (no browser or program can play a video of whatever format) or the sound devices appear as not installed.
It's really a pain in the **** since microsoft forces driver updates but doesn't even make shure that they do work! The option to exclude drivers from windows update doesn't work anymore. You can untick the case, but windows installs them anyways. And you can't manually uninstall it either since it doesn't appear in the Update history.
The only way to 'repair' your computer is to do a restore which, for me, takes almost an hour to complete and then go offline. So it is no option either. Paragon for mac.
Someone has to come up with a permanent fix for this issue, the old driver was only like a month old but worked perfectly! I want it back!
